The SOUND
Reviewed by: John Hyland
A freewheeling jaunt exploring the components of sound is the initial response evoked when first hearing Face The King’s new EP The SOUND. The four songs on this EP establish an initial tone of buoyancy from “You, Me & The Sound” to the last,“The Science Apart”. The SOUND, released as a preview to their upcoming album, explores a range of emotions from enraptured to afflicted to melodious.
The independent rock band does not disappoint in their EP, but leaves fans anticipating the album to come. They keep a similar uplifting tone throughout the EP, but don’t shy away from showing a tender side. The SOUND definitely leaves hope for what lies ahead. Face The King is ascending towards prominence with the tone they’ve set so far.
The SOUND isn’t going to knock your socks off the moment you hear it, but it still leaves you wanting more. Face The King plays it right in their EP release by dishing out good music with the capacity to get even better.
