The Weight of Your Love

Way back in January, British band, Editors released The Weight of Your Love, and slowly began rolling out the album across Europe. Back in May, the album debuted at #1 on the Dutch charts in The Netherlands. Today, the U.S. finally welcomes the new release.
You might remember this band from their song on the The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. Twilight fan or not, the soundtrack did really well with great tracks from Death Can for Cutie, Muse, and Tom Yorke.
Editors (not The Editors, sort of like the band, Eagles) music will fit right in a playlist with your favorite songs from The Killers and U2, as well as The Doors and INXS. In fact, in the first single off of the record, “A Ton of Love”, lead singer Tom Smith channels his inner Jim Morrison and Michael Hutchence when he belts out the chorus with all of the attitude and swagger those front men possessed.
Just when you think you got a handle on the vibe of the album, they throw in “What is This Thing Called Love” with an amazing falsetto performance that is begging to be featured on a performance of So You Think You Can Dance, choreographed by Travis Wall.
It’s a great record that makes you want to go back into the band’s catalog to see what you might have missed on their three previous releases. If you take away one track from this record, make sure it’s the single. I Can’t wait until they make the trip over the pond, which, unfortunately is not looking like anytime soon.
