Over the past decade, Gorilla Music has become the single biggest force in developing the biggest Battle of the Bands contests nationwide. They are bringing this great event to Philly, with 12 of the best undiscovered local bands playing back to back on the World Cafe Live stage for a chance to win big. Competing bands will have the opportunity to win cash, management, and the grand prize- free studio, writing and production time with Dan Cull, Gorilla Music’s president!
The lineup is absolutely stacked, and features such rising up-and-comers as Badd Kitti, a deep grooving jazz-funk band, the emo-tinged rock of The Casual E, the old school, throwback acoustic blues of the Dirty Soap Blues Band, and many more. Other highlights will include the tight alt-rock of A Reckless Daring, the acoustic-tinged rootsy RaLeaf, and the hard-partying southern groove metal of Whiskey Demon. Cutting across genres and styles of all kinds, this eclectic Battle of the Bands offers a chance for attendees to discover some great young bands before they gain a wider audience.
Gorilla Music Presents: The Philadelphia Battle of the Bands will be held this Sunday, July 6th, at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, located at 3025 Walnut Street. The doors will open at 4 PM sharp, and the bands will play into the night. Tickets are not available online, so be sure to show up early to purchase your tickets at the venue for only $15!
