It’s easy to assume that most people are more than aware of who Eric Clapton is and it’s a safe bet to say his tours are highly visible. What you may not know is that in 1998 Mr. Clapton purchased area on the island of Antigua and opened up the Crossroads Center, one of the preeminent Addiction Recovery centers in the world. He continues to fund it by hosting his mammoth “Crossroads Guitar Festival” every three years. The first was held in Dallas, the previous two were held in Chicago, but this year on April 12th and 13th , NYC is getting set to host one of the bigger classic rock festivals around. At least 34 high profile acts are already scheduled to play including the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Jeff Beck, BB King and that’s not counting the apparent surprise guests that might pop up. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster and range from as low as 75 dollars for more modest seats to upwards of 500 dollars for seats with special access attached to it.
