The sibling trio, Modeling, made up of Connor, Ryan, and Guinn Brogan, are thrilled to share their incredible new single, “Nothing Unexpected,” a true, synthwave-inspired track.
The brothers are experts when it comes to blending their “DIY attitude, bold lyricism, and nostalgic sound”, they are more than ready to release their third single from their upcoming EP.
Initially, the trio came from a prog-rock background. Their father introduced them to music at a young age and purchased electric guitars and acoustic drums for them.
After years of practicing and crafting their sound, the three brothers were signed to a record label under a previous band, PMtoday. While still in a contract, it left the brothers feeling musically stagnant, without any creative freedom. PMtoday soon disbanded after that.
After several years of trying to collect their thoughts, the trio discovered their new sound. Between jazz, electronica, and contemporary, Modeling discovered their new sound.
Films play a huge role in the band’s creative process. The brothers have always been huge movie fans prior to playing music, even prior to playing. Their dad would introduce the brothers to films including The Terminator, Alien, and Braveheart – before they were even “of age” to watch them.
What’s crazy was that the movies eventually crept into the band’s music. The band has a certain process where each idea will go through the process of “playing it over muted scenes on youtube to see if it works.”
“It’s important that each piece of music we write has its own world for the listener to escape to,” the band stated.
The trio’s new song, “Nothing Unexpected,” provides a much-needed escape from the mundane.
The band is currently writing and self-producing a six-track EP inspired by a retro-futuristic, dystopian world, due late Spring. With much more to come from the young collective, Modeling is one’s to watch in 2021.
