Coming the day before Independence Day, the HYPE! Presents: Love Fest 2014 is an excellent showcase for some wonderful young bands and solo artists. For this festival, the focus is firmly on the music, with thirteen acts total, divided into five upstairs and eight downstairs, playing throughout the night. The majority of the acts are local and on the rise, with none of the big names you’ll see headlining other festivals throughout the city. Instead, Love Fest 2014 gives you an opportunity to explore some underground bands and find out about some new favorites. Come out and show some love for great music from The City of Brotherly Love!
Some of the highlights to look forward to for the evening upstairs are Brady and The Bear’s folky, driving acoustic sound, Phunkyman’s funk-rock stylings, and the harmony-heavy Miko and the Musket. Country singer-songwriter Tracy Chamberlain will perform downstairs, along with the proggy, jammy Kingfisher, guitar-slinging rocker Boy Wonder (along with dancers Jeni & The East Coast Shimmies,) and more. All of these bands and solo artists are unsigned, so you should come in ready to discover some new music that you won’t have a chance to hear anywhere else.

Presents: Love Fest 2014 will be held this Thursday, July 3rd, at the World Café Live Philadelphia, located on 3025 Walnut St. The doors will open for entrance at 6:30 PM and the festival will begin at 7 PM.
