For The Love of Pig Iron Annual Bash is coming back this year with La Vie Bo-Ham, on February 5th, and the Pig Iron Theatre invites you, your beret, and your baguette, to spend a night full of dance, music, and wild theatrics at the Trocadero.
Founded in 1995 and led by artistic directors Dito van Reigersberg, Quinn Bauriedel and Dan Rothenberg, the Pig Iron Theatre Company is an awesome community that is specialized in experimental, new and exuberant performances.
“The mission of Pig Iron Theatre Company is to create original performance works which test and break the boundaries of dance, drama, clown, puppetry, music, and text; to experiment with form while staying accessible; to develop a physical, theatrical performance technique that draws from many performance traditions; to re-imagine “classics” with both irreverence and a desire to make them relevant (…)”
You might have already heard of the Pig Iron Theatre and its lively pieces of work. “Pigonometry”, “Lights! Ham-era! Action!”, “Twelfth Night”, “Zero Cost House”, “Come to My Awesome Fiesta, It’s Going to be Awesome, Okay?”… the Pig Iron Theatre Company came up with more than 30 original works so far, each one crazier than the other.
Each January, the Pig Iron Theatre Company hosts an exclusive benefit cabaret, and each year, debauchery and thrills await you. The people at Pig Iron promise you that this year will be wilder than ever. Join them at the Trocadero on January 5th for a badass and charitable event.
La Vie Bo-Ham will be a night celebrating all things French and filled with music, dance, theatre, and various acts. Some of the artists featured include The Philly West Orchestra, talented punk, jazz, Balkan-inspired band from West Philadelphia, Lorin Sklamberg, vocalist, accordionist, pianist, and guitarist from the Klezmatics, or Setu Tribe, an ever-growing group of women coming together to perform perfectly choreographed dances. MC Quinn Bauriedel and Martha Graham Cracker will host this insane night of excess and festivities: “Bring your baguettes and your berets to this fantastic night of song and dance!” Also present this night are Opera Philadelphia, Gunnar Montana, Johnny Showcase, Emmanuelle Delpech and Vlerie Marcozzi.
We recommend that you pick up your tickets while you still can, as this night is sure to be legendary.
