Robin Skinner a.k.a. Cavetown releases his new single, “Sharpener,” along with an animated music video as well. “Sharpener” is rooted in the struggles of personal demons of self-harm: a topic that is very under-discussed, and Cavetown is willing to shine some much-needed light on the subject.
“Ultimately, everyone has the same struggles when we boil it down, even if the details are different,” Skinner shares. “That’s what I’m trying to get across with my music. It’s basically just me telling myself what I need to hear.”
“Sharpener” shows a heightened balance between the darker theme of mental illness and the colorfully animated video.
