Coming up this weekend is the Brandywine Folk Festival at the Anson B. Nixon park in Kennett Square. With tons of talented artists and awesome vendors, this three-day festival is not one to be missed.
The first day, tomorrow, kicks off at 1:30 with Sweetbriar Rose, a whimsical band of Philadelphia natives. Among many other acts throughout the day include Dani Mari, who recently did an interview with That Mag! The night finishes up with Sean Hoots Trio at 10:00.
Saturday goes all day long, starting at 12:00 with Shane Palko. Throughout the day, The Lawsuits and The Toy Soldiers will be playing. You can catch interviews with both in That Mag’s recent print issue. The evening will come to an end with Doylestown natives Good Old War, who spoke to That Mag last year and never fail to entertain on stage.
Sunday, the third and final day, gets going at 12:00 with Pheonixville’s Mostly Maybe, an “organically structured and harmony-heavy” band. Coldfronts, Vita Wolf, and Nico’s Gun will make appearances throughout the day amongst many others. The whole festival will be closed out by a performance by Secret Sisters at 8:00.
Make sure to grab some tickets for either the whole weekend or just one day! Free parking starts at 5:00 on Friday and goes throughout the whole weekend. The festival is sponsored by many local companies and restaurants, such as Service Mark, 88.5 WXPN, and Victory Brewing Company. Not only will there be live music all weekend, but there will be tons more to check out such as Color Me Crazy Creations, Flapa Photos, Eclipse Body Jewelry, and Caricatoonz by John Sprague. Grab a bite to eat at one of the tons of places available on-site, from water ice to hot dogs to Korean “with a twist.”
No matter what you check out while you’re there, make sure to stop by the Brandywine Folk Festival this weekend!
