Tomorrow, seven local breweries are putting together their own bands and competing live at World Cafe. After a highly successful show last year, raising over $7,000 for the winning band’s charity of choice, Band of Brewers is back.
Each band performs three songs, covers to originals, and picks a draft beer of their choice to create a pretty fantastic local beer lineup. A panel of judges, including Casey Parker of Jose Pistolas, Fergus Carey of Fergies Pub and Monk’s Café, and George Miller of JUMP magazine will choose the winner. This year the audience also has a say in who wins.
The competing breweries are:
Victory
Sly Fox
Yards
Weyerbacher
Neshaminy Creek
Philadelphia
Tröegs
To get a taste of what the music will be like, last year the bands covered artists like The Black Keys, Outkast, The Stooges, Beck, and Motorhead! Great beers, great bands, and a great cause for only $20 a ticket. Doors open at noon and the show starts around 12:30pm.
