Unfortunately, in some of the other songs, “Out of the Blue” and “Shake My Heart Awake” in particular, they try too hard to make things rhyme. They want the lyrics to flow, but instead, it occasionally comes off as stilted. It is not bad enough to be a deal breaker for the album as a whole. In fact, I think it is merely the middle step until they get to a place where their lyrical rhythm is seamless; they’re just not quite there yet.
Bailiff is a Chicago-based band who released their first album in 2011. The band consists of Josh Siegel, Ren Mathew on drums and Owen O’Malley. To those who have not studied up on their sword fighting recently, ‘remise’ is a fencing term for one more attack on the same lunge. This is an awesome title for a second album. In fact it is just an awesome second album, period and I am very much looking forward to their third.
