Delilah

East has a very unique style of music. When you listen to it, you probably have never heard anything like it before—or at least not in this age of music. As you listen to Delilah, you feel as though you are stepping back in time through each track. This makes it very interesting to listen to each song on the album.
The first track is “Only You”. The beat blended with East’s raspy voice simply just takes you away. As East sings the lyrics, “Only you,” he displays his range as a singer constantly throughout the song. This is a perfect introduction of what is to come.
“Satisfy Me” is one of the best songs on Delilah. East sings these clever lyrics at the beginning of the song: “I sip the finest brandy, smell the sweetest perfume, I kiss the softest lips, but even they wouldn’t do.” The combination of great lyrics, his intriguing voice, and amazing instrumentals creates such a different sound from today’s mainstream music, making you want to keep listening.
The fifth song, “All I’ll Ever Need”, is a slower tune that really captures the time capsule essence. Although it has a slow tempo, that rhythmic movement makes you relax and focus on the music.
“Lying In Her Arms”, the last track, is another slow song. When you hear the intro, you aren’t sure whether the song will be a normal tempo or a slower tempo due to the overlap of different pitches that the instruments play. The first verse is sung with a simple accompaniment supporting it. This strategy really makes the listener focus on the lyrics that are being sung at the moment.
Other songs on the album include “Devil In Me”, “Quit You”, and “Lonely”.
