Rising alt-rock quartet The Wrecks share their new EP Static out today via Big Noise Records. The four-song set spans a variety of music from up-tempo dance tracks to alternative bops primed for Top 40 radio.
“We originally wanted to release a deluxe version of our album Infinitely Ordinary, but oftentimes deluxe tracks get snubbed a bit and we didn’t want that to happen to these songs. So we decided to give them their own release, and an opportunity to reach more people,” shares frontman, Nick Anderson, on today’s release.
Static follows the band’s full-length, Infinitely Ordinary, released earlier this year via Big Noise Records. Infinitely Ordinary is an 8-song set that fully defines the four-piece’s “desire for perfection that is anything but ordinary.”
In 2015, The Wrecks formed in Thousand Oaks, California. Soon after the band snuck into a studio to self-produce the debut EP, We Are The Wrecks. With strong influences from The Pixies, The Strokes, and Weezer, they then followed up with 2018’s Panic Vertigo. Ones To Watch hailed the band as “indie rock’s best-kept secret.”
The Wrecks are Nick Anderson, Aaron Kelley, Nick “Schmizz” Schmidt, and Billy Nally.
