The rising new alt-pop band, NIGHTLY, shares a reprise of their song, “The Movies” featuring their friend and collaborator, Charli Adams.
“‘the movies’ is just a vibe for 3 straight minutes,” Jonathan Capeci explains. “We wanted this to be a soundtrack for people. Something you can put on that instantly takes you to another place, even from the first note.” The addition of Charli Adams happened during a phone call while Nightly was on their most recent tour. “I called Charli and she was into the idea. We actually wrote the lyrics to her second verse over the phone… we thought it would be cool to tell another side of the story.”
Nightly was started by cousins Jonathan Capeci and Joey Beretta, and then added drummer Nick Sainato. Since 2016, the trio has released a steady stream of music, beginning with their debut honest EP. The EP featured the 8 million-plus streamed single “XO.” The trio has also spent time on the road supporting The Night Game, K. Flay, and The Struts. They also were on two sold-out tours with NF in the U.S. and overseas. They released their second EP, The Sound of Your Voice, in 2018. The EP features singles “Holding On,” “Phantom,” and “Who I Am To You.” The Los Angeles-based band recently signed a partnership with BMG.
