The rising Australian pop star, Alex The Astronaut (Alex Lynn) shares the new music video her for her debut single, “Lost.” She recently announced her debut album, The Theory of Absolutely Nothing, out on August 21. The singer/songwriter and storyteller, Alex, has always had a crazy ability at capturing the essence of human experience with music, as heard in the song, “Lost.”
The song is about “trying to find your way and fix everything, and the moment where you’ve exhausted all your options and have to accept the fact that there is so much that is completely out of your control: sometimes you will just feel lost.”
The video with her manager using a borrowed green screen. Alex notes, “We had no video experience between us but plenty of unfounded confidence… Our plan was to make all the background places that you could be lost, like underwater, a deserted island, and in space because I’m an astronaut.”
Sydney-based Peach Collective (Kathryn Farmer & Tatjana Hamilton) took care of the effects. “The geniuses Tat and Kat came along and took the chaotic green screen footage we got and made it what it is,” adds Alex. “We wanted it to be outrageous and use as many effects as they could and they made it even cooler than I could have imagined it could be.”
