Makoto released his newest EP, Primitive. The album does invoke the feel of being displaced in time and has the vibe of a jungle or perhaps rain forest throughout it’s tracks- a mix of fast paced and soulful sounds. The tracks all have a smooth percussion sound intermixed with hits from a smooth saxophone and synthesized sounds. The jazz sounds are strong and pleasant.
The EP is a great international installment to electronica and the hints of jazz strengthen in and make it stand out from others. “Ritual” was the strongest in my opinion as it had the most jazz elements and that was the key to this album.
