You know those albums that you put on during long road trips, where you just roll down the window, sing along at the top of your lungs and you don’t care that you still have another five hours to go because the tunes are that doggone good? Well, this is that album.
Hailing from Baltimore, MD by way of Cleveland, TN, J. Roddy Walston and The Business have come full circle. Founded 11 years ago after they beat 350 other bands to win a showcase at a national festival, J. Roddy and his band have toured with other notable southern rock bands such as Deer Tick, Lucero and The Drive-By Truckers, performed at Bonnaroo, SXSW and Lollapalooza and will be in the Philly area on November 6 performing at TLA.
Walston titled their new release after a nervous-system disorder that has long afflicted him. Everything about this album screams rock and roll, from the song titles to the wailing electric guitar and rollicking drum beats. From the opening track of “Heavy Bells” to the finale of “Midnight Cry”, there is never a dull moment. It flows like whiskey over ice and kicks your ass in the end.
