The High Frontier

Lumerians, a pop rock band, release their second album The High Frontier. They were indeed attempting to present something that felt a little like outer space and mystery invoking. Overall, the six-track album felt a bit jumbled together, not really having a distinct sound or theme that really ties each track together.
There were high and low points in the album with strong guitar riffs throughout, really making an impression while listening. “The Bloom” was a track the album could have left off, it was monotone and lacked the energy of the other five, that for the most part kept me engaged in the listening. “The High Frontier” seemed to be a representation of the band more so than the others as it was a mix of the energy and monotone features of other songs. Perhaps the best on the album. “Dogon Genesis” opened the album with a bang and was a great song to show off the group’s power and style, even if the style appeared to change, hinging only on the psychedelic undertone to link them all together.
Overall, the album had powerful instrumentals with strange and slightly hypocritical vocals. It left me a little cold and confused wondering just what they can do with their talents. Please note their is a bonus track, “Abudhabijhab”, that can be found only on the digital album.
