Blurred Lines

The chart topping single “Blurred Lines” was just a preview of Robin Thicke’s sixth studio album, also titled Blurred Lines. Diverging from his exaggerated R&B sound heard on previous albums, Thicke, channels a 70’s funk with modern touches of pop and electricity. The album is sure to be filled with carefree summer anthems. However, the sound doesn’t differentiate itself from other chart toppers of the summer. It has the makings of a hit that will last about 15 seconds. Yes, the songs are fun to listen to, but Thicke hasn’t created anything new. He seems to have jumped onto the pop train after his R&B career cooled down. Overall the songs are fun for a few times around but seem to fizzle out after that.
