Dance in the morning, in the afternoon, and, because it’s Saturday night, you’ll have some more energy to dance at night! Dance all day Saturday, July 27th in celebration of the 4th Annual Philadelphia Dance Day. Philly Dance Fitness partnered up with other local dance studios around the city to bring to you this FREE fun filled day of dance. Then spice up the night with a $5 social dance party. Whether you love to dance or have no rhythm at all there is a workshop for you. This day is for everyone to just have fun and dance.
Get the kids up early and on the dance floor with a ballet workshop for kids followed by Fam Jam, where parents can join their children for a dance sampler of hip-hop, jazz, Latin dance, and more. If you’d rather stretch first thing in the morning, kick off your day with the Slow Jam Stretch; a workshop with a combination of Tai Chi, yoga, and Pilates.
By now everyone is warmed up and ready to get dancing. Go check out one of the Impact Jazz, Salsa, or modern dance fitness classes offered in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, Frisky Friday is spilling into Saturday with a striptease aerobics class. Forget that you’re exercising and work on some sexy dance moves. Then, show off some of your strength and flexibility with a co-ed pole dance fitness class, bellydance class, and a burlesque fitness class.
I trust that you remember some moves from earlier because it’s time to dance the night away at The Ethical Society in Rittenhouse Square. Kick off the evening with a Zumba Party workout! West Coast Swing, waltz, salsa, and novice Lindy Hop are all on the agenda before the night is out so I hope you brought your dancing shoes!
Philadelphia Dance Day is organized in honor of National Dance Day. Most dance studios participating in this great, free event are located within three miles of each other. For more information about Philadelphia Dance Day locations, workshops, and times head on over to www.PhiladelphiaDanceDay.com
