Punk/indie band I Can See Mountains releases their debut album, Life on a Houseboat with Panic Records. This group of five from Buffalo, New York capture the sound and energy of great bands from before them. A mix of iconic bands such as Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte, the musicality and lyrics in the songs easily rival these popular bands. But the band falls a little bit shorter on the vocals to match.
I Can See Mountains still has a great sound that has you tapping your foot or dancing a little in your seat as you listen. This sound is seamlessly blended and lends to the carefree vibe of the entire album. Evoking a sense of fun and play in each song, I Can See Mountains captures a sound the shifts from dance party music to driving with the top down on a carefree day.
From “One mirror, Two Bodies” to “The Tigers Have Found Me and I Do Not Care”, the album offers an upbeat and spunky sound. They even have the quirky titles, like ” Sweater Science” and “One Big Table” to match their blended sound. Overall, a great album to take a listen to if you love bands like Fall Out Boy.
