Pineapple Grenade

Baltimore has been skanking to the tunes of Ballyhoo since 1995! Ballyhoo has conquered their home town for sure and quite a few others along the way, having performed the Warped Tour in 2012, and you can even download the song “Cali Girl” and play it on expert mode in Rock Band 2!
First of all, I love the title and album cover! In a world of downloads, album covers don’t get the praise they often deserve, so great job graphic designer!
This album is just in time for summer rides to the beach with your friends, blasting the radio, while flirting in traffic jams with feet hanging out the passenger side window. Pineapple Grenade gives you a collection of songs that cross that ska/punk genre more into pop/rock and will most definitely have you singing along!
There are a few tracks that are radio ready for sure. “Beautiful Day” is a feel good song that is sure to remind listeners of the Summer of 2013 for years to come. It’s a laid back, easy going, fun song with a great groove that’ll make you want to hang out at the beach bar, or under the covers with that special someone.
Another great song is “When They Told Me”. The song contains a mandolin track that partners with lead singer Howie Spangler’s voice so sweetly that it brings out the honesty in the lyrics, just a great tune!
Ballyhoo will be celebrating the release of Pineapple Grenade Friday, June 28th at the Hard Rock Café in Philadelphia along with tour mates, Authority Zero. This will definitely be a show to catch!
