Half Waif‘s Mythopoetics is the personal testimony of New Jersey’s famed solo artist, Nandi Rose, and her journey facing generational trauma, cultivating awareness and acceptance of self and experiences.
Each track is constructed to tell a different part of Rose’s story – one of transformation through recognition of and reconciliation with traumatic aspects of her experiences with family, partner(s), and self.
Throughout Mythopoetics, Rose poetically addresses the realities of the disorderly processes of awareness, healing, making amends, and gaining an understanding that, although we are shaped by our experiences with the external world and the people within it, we are also capable of taking ownership of how we allow those relationships to further influence who we are, and how we continue to relate to and interact with the world around us.
The story Rose shares are done in a 12-track harmony between prose and sound that intrigues listeners, as she details her personal journey with self-enlightenment and emotional liberation.
