The Los Angeles-based band, Flyght Club, releases a new song titled “Those American Eyes” available now via all DSPs. The music project, started by musician Shauvik Sharan, showcases Sharan‘s airy, effortlessly vocals and instrumentation. His ability to blend different elements of world music, psychedelic rock, and indie pop, showcases the type of musician he is.
“‘Those American Eyes’ is a very special song to me. Contrary to popular first impressions about it being about love or a girl, the song talks about the struggles of staying in the country of opportunities – the United States of America, as an immigrant music artist. The song uses heavy personification and metaphors and is essentially me singing to America personified as a woman with all her enticing charms and opportunities as I try to hold onto my dream of achieving the American dream of making it big in the global music scene. In my past 5 years, I’ve encountered a lot of talented musicians like myself trying to achieve the same dream. Some got a break, many others couldn’t. Lack of work, exploration, and logistic issues caused them to give up on their dream. And so I sing to America as I try my best to hang around and court her,” Sharan explains of the track.
Every song is written, produced, performed, and mixed by Sharan, solely to ensure that the song’s message is delivered how he intends it to. When he performs live, he does often have a full band with him.
Sharan grew up in Pune, India, and just recently moved to the United States approximately 5 years ago to pursue music as a full-time career. He grew up mostly on classic rock hits like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and Pink Floyd. He played guitar in many rock bands in India and won a ton of rock band competitions. He began DJing and won a ton of competitions. Shauvik decided to make the move to Los Angeles to take a chance in the music industry.
