Today, Japanese psychedelic rock band, Kikagaku Moyo, releases a brand new live record, Live at Levitation, the first LP in part of Levitation‘s new live series.
On this record, it showcases the band’s very first U.S. shows in 2014 on the “A-side” and then also their return to the States in 2019 on the “B-side” on a sold-out U.S. tour.
“Playing Austin Psych Fest / Levitation was always a goal from our earliest days of the band – to join the psychedelic community for a weekend of music and present our live performance. This show in 2014 was a landmark for us. To return years later in 2019 and find the same welcome, the dream was still very much alive and well,” Kikagaku Moyo explains.
Since the band began back in 2012, they’ve come such a long way. The group of five friends bonded over playing freely and psychedelic music. Their progressive, folk-influenced style of psychedelia helped them stand out from their peers and brought them international acclaim. Years later, they’re crushing music festivals and headlining tours.
