Musician Nathaniel Rateliff announces that he will be performing socially-distanced concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre from September 15 through 21 – his first performances since the COVID-19 outbreak that erupted back in March. The shows will feature various aspects of Rateliff‘s incredible musicianship, whether it’s a stripped-down acoustic version or a full 10-piece folk band, including a string quartet.
The concerts will also feature opening act, Kevin Morby, who was scheduled to open for Rateliff‘s tour back in March.
“We want to get out there and play,” says Rateliff. “We feel so fortunate that Red Rocks is our hometown venue and look forward to having people at normal capacities in the future. But until that time it will feel great to make the best of the current situation, we want to get back to that live energy. These shows will be special for us, and hopefully the fans, as we will have our full production, custom light show and projections that were featured on the original tour that was unfortunately cancelled.”
In order to follow social distancing rules, the performances on September 15, 16, 18, 19, and 21 will hold a maximum capacity of 175 attendees. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 9 at 10AM MST on AXS ticketing. There will be a lottery system, as well as a small portion of higher-priced tickets for guaranteed entry. The show is general admission.
The proceeds from the shows will go to The Marigold Project, a foundation dedicated to economic, racial, and social justice. All funds from the shows will be distributed evenly amongst organizations working in Colorado.
