One of New Jersey’s rising talents, Grapefruit Sound Lab, shares their latest single, “The Flavors of Tears” from their forthcoming album, Eight Days Across America. They have released several other solo tracks, as well as collaborative tracks from the album. The album will be available on vinyl and you can pre-order it here.
The vocals feature artist Robert Cotnoir; it was also written and produced by Cotnoir. The track was mixed by Mike Degen at Stimulant Sound in New York and was mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road in London.
New York native Cotnoir has been able to seamlessly create and hone a sound that reflects influences from freestyle, electro, and house, to classic rock and classical. His work is comforting, innovative, and exciting. His songwriting explores themes of “pleasure-seeking, wandering souls, loss, pride, jealousy, redemption, salvation, and the struggle between faith and fact, spirit and mind, good and evil.”
Cotnoir has had a successful and distinguished career as one of Hollywood’s top, award-winning motion picture music editors. He has worked with artists including Amuka, Sarah Naughton, and Gina Volpe.
