Artist Gus Dapperton reunited with bandmates to play new single, “Post Humorous,” live. The track is off Dapperton‘s recently announced sophomore record, Orca, out September 18 via AWAL. The musician and his friends found a way to bring the bittersweet to life against “devastating lyrics about experiencing death in childhood.”
The 10-track LP was written and produced by Dapperton, with Spike Stent (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Frank Ocean) mixing.
The 23-year-0ld artist began with singles and EP’s to 2018’s Where Polly People Go To Read; but with this new song, he is entering new territory. “The new album explores human pain and suffering, but also healing and redemption.”
“I was unbalanced,” he recalls. “My lifestyle and habits had gotten extreme. I wasn’t getting eight hours of sleep a night, I was drinking and doing drugs often. Wasn’t eating healthy. And on top of it, I was performing. A show can be the most inspirational, emotional high; but if something goes wrong it can be devastating.”
