Singer/songwriter and indie-pop rocker, Phoebe Bridgers, shares her new song “I See You,” fit with the accompanying lyric video. Last month, Bridgers shared the details of her upcoming sophomore release, Punisher, scheduled for a June 19th release via Dead Oceans.
Bridgers previously released the singles “Garden Song“ and “Kyoto”.
Bridgers talks about “I See You” and its origins: “It’s about my breakup with my drummer. We dated for a few years, made music every day, and were extremely codependent. We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.”
Bridgers has also announced plans for the “Phoebe Bridgers’ World Tour,” scheduled to kick off on May 26th with a live stream performance from her kitchen, bathroom, and bed, and running until June 6th.
In 2017, Bridgers released her debut album, a relatively new and unknown singer/songwriter living in Los Angeles, and now she is an international sensation with three works to her name: her debut album, Stranger in the Alps, the boygenius EP with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in 2018, and lastly, the surprise collaboration Better Oblivion Community Center with Conor Oberst in 2019.
