Singer/songwriters Eric Anders and Mark O’Bitz met in their late 30’s in 2002. Anders was never a musician, (O’Bitz was) but an avid fan and listener, so soon after the pair met, they brought their ideas together and began their prolific music career.
Following their debut full-length, Of All These Things, they share their brand new folk/singer-songwriter sophomore effort, Ghost of Ancestors. The ten-song album is a beautiful collection of folk/singer-songwriter tunes that soothe the soul and bring comfort to the listener. All of the songs on this record are written by Anders and O’Bitz.
The opening track, “Lopsided Gyre,” is a stellar song surrounded by the light strum of the acoustic guitar paired with lyricism like “there’s nowhere to go if we cannot change.”
“Wounded Son” and “The Meaning In Life” are two incredible songs where Anders sings about what matters, family, and what he interprets as the meaning in life. Though, working long hours and trying to find the meaning in life can often be a struggle.
On “Wonder a Time,” the chill vibes and soft vocals of Anders are perfect for a wintertime listening session, a morning coffeehouse, or for winding down at night.
“More Than Love” is a beautiful, elegant love song layered over the gentle acoustic guitar as Anders sings “we fall in love, starts so strong/talks are so long/becoming one from two.”
