The Swedish electronic pop-rock outfit, The Other Life, returns with the electrifying new track “Moody.”
The 3-track release begins with the Other Life‘s original version of “Moody.” The original track opens with heart-pounding drum machines that are interwoven with brassy synths. It’s a bit of dark electronic which produce layers upon layers of unique sound production and design.
On the other two tracks, Producers Operator S and John Gary share their individual take on the song through two pre-released remixes.
The Other Life‘s emphasis on synths and old-school drum machines recreate the sounds of 80’s dance clubs where their catalog could be played alongside other dance favorites like Joy Division and Public Image Ltd.
The Other Life is the work of a single musician based out of Gothenburg, Sweden who has decided not to reveal their identity but focus strictly on the music.
“This music began as an effort to cross the overcast, melancholy distortion of early post-punk bands like Joy Division with a modern club-style beat. The song is less about actual moodiness and more about honesty and how often we have to pretend.”
