Story of a Young Boss

Note: I may say things in this review that the artist may take as a compliment, but is not meant as such in any way possible.
First, this record not only takes rap back 20 years (and not in a cool retro way like RunDMC or the Beastie Boys), but in the way that 2 Live Crew sends the women’s lib movement back about 50 years!
If you like rap stereotypes in your music, you’ve got every one of them laid out in this album. Everything from “drinking patron” to “getting high” to “hitting the club” to “tapping that ass”. And there’s a lot of ass tapping in these songs. And not in a seductive Justin Tiberlake sexy way, but in a way that I kind of felt like I needed a rape whistle listening to this record; I definitely feel violated in some way.
But like I said, maybe that’s the reaction the artist is trying to invoke. All I know is that I wish I could UN-listen to this.
