Body Wars

Philadelphia-based indie rock/pop band June Divided started off as a college project five years ago and even with a four year break between albums, their mojo still burns.
The six-song EP Body Wars is an exhilarating follow-up to Backbone, their full-length album which was released soon after the band scored a spot on the 2012 Warped Tour.
Produced by Fred Masherino (Taking Back Sunday), Body Wars was mostly recorded in either his basement studio or lead singer Melissa Menago’s living room. During this time, Menago suffered a devastating vocal chord injury and the group ran into scheduling conflicts which pushed recording back. But the perseverance has paid off. Body Wars is a bit more pop and incorporates more synth than their previous album, but the rock and roll element still permeates throughout and Menago’s powerful vocals cut like a chainsaw through butter.
The single “I Didn’t Mind” was recorded by the band themselves when they were snowed in one weekend and suffering from cabin fever-it’s an addictive, passionate, fast-paced anthem. Fans who have been patiently waiting for this new album will not be disappointed.
