Epic Records has released it’s first compilation holiday album, I’ll Be Home For Christmas. With songs from Fifth Harmony, Meghan Trainor, Fiona Apple, Tamar Braxton, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson and A Great Big World, the seven song album offers a surprising range of holiday moods.
The majority of the songs feature huskier female vocals that are well suited to the melodies, creating a beautiful listening experience. The children’s songs on the album, “Frosty the Snowman” (performed by Fiona Apple) and “I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas” (by A Great Big World) are given an almost vintage sound, transporting listeners back to their own childhoods.
I’ll Be Home For Christmas, with Trainor nailing the title track, is a perfect album to put on rotation with your other favorite holiday albums for decorating the house this season.
