Are you a fan of Jamaican music, food and culture? This Sunday, the Reggae In The Park festival will come to the Mann Center for an afternoon and evening full of live performances, delicious food cooked on site, and more. Described as “Philly’s premiere summer reggae festival,” this event is a perfect, family-friendly way to spend a gorgeous day in the late summer sun.
The annual festival will return for the third year in a row with an excellent set of performances by some of the biggest names in the reggae world, and beyond. Some of the highlights include ragga superstar Mavado and dancehall vocalist Konshens representing the younger generation, playing alongside old guard roots and more traditional reggae acts like Steel Pulse and Morgan Heritage. Also featuring will be international superstar Matisyahu, who is sure to draw one of the biggest crowds of the evening. Of course, Reggae In The Park won’t only feature great music, and the organizers promise mouthwatering Caribbean food, vendors and artisans, and more.
All of this will go down this Sunday, August 3rd. The doors open to the public at 1:30 PM, and the music and festivities will kick off in full force at 2 PM. The Mann Center is located at Fairmount Park on 5201 Parkside Avenue, and you can head to their page to purchase tickets here. If you plan on taking your young children along, then you’re in luck, because all kids 12 years of age and younger can get into the festival absolutely free, provided that they are accompanied by an adult.
