Revolution of an Open Mind

Huntsville, Alabama southern hard rock band Rearview Ghost are out with their second album and it is as rockin’ as a hellhound chugging white lightning. Produced in Nashville by the legendary Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Alice Cooper), Revolution Of An Open Mind‘s six tracks (with a bonus acoustic version of ‘Make Time’ off their first full-length album) are, as I mentioned in my Rearview Ghost feature, gutsy, edgy and cool as heck.
Each track flows smoothly into the next and there ain’t an average song on here. The hit infectiously rocking single “The Devil’s Backbone” is the song you want to flick your Bic to: “It started with a whiskey and ended in a fight. The devil plays dirty, and that ain’t right.” Vocalist Josia is shades of Joan Jett, Alison Mosshart and Lzzy Hale belting out her saucy lyrics with ravenous energy. Bassist Flip Cooper and guitarist Craig Shadix add just the right amount of fire and Dixie dirt to some of my favorite tracks like “Dead No More” and “Dirty South.”
Get your flask of whiskey out and prepare to dance with the devil til the well runs dry. This kick ass album will make you want to start a revolution.
