This comes from the heart- Brother Bad, please don’t quit your day jobs. Ever.

I thought I had heard bad heavy metal, but these songs sound like ones the fictional band Mouse Rat, from Parks and Recreation, would cover. Untuned vocals and guitars, terrible mixing and metal footed (not in the good way) drumming riddle this album and make it absolutely unlistenable. Never mind the grade school rhyme schemes and guffaw-inducing attempts at screaming, this self titled album by Brother Bad is fuel to the heavy metal stereotype’s fire. There are bands out there that can do intelligent, provocative and well constructed heavy metal, and Brother Bad is not one of them.

If you’d like a laugh, check out track 4, “Make it Right”. That’s when the screaming starts. Unfortunately, it continues through the rest of the album. Honestly, this sounds like Puddle of Mud got drunk and made a live record.

These guys should be granted a do-over. Or maybe not. The poor construction of this album just highlights the insufficiencies of an amateur band that needs a couple more years of training before attempting something as prestigious as an album release.
