One of the Founding Fathers is turning 308 years old on Friday and Philly is ready to celebrate the life of a man very close to their hearts.
What better place to host an event honoring the man who presented the famous kite experiment in Philadelphia than Kite & Key. Evolution Brewing and Kite & Key are teaming up to have one heck of a birthday celebration for Ben Franklin. Founder Tom Knorr and the Evolution brew crew will be at Kite & Key to help celebrate. Festivities start at 5pm. There will also be a Flyers tickets give away and Franklin Meyhem!
Also on Friday, visitors can snap a picture with the life-size statue of Ben Franklin which is located in Signers’ Hall. They can also sign his birthday card and cake will be served. For his 308th birthday, $3.08 will be taken off general admission tickets.
Don’t party too hard, though. There’s more! Friday and Saturday, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Historic Philadelphia Center, all over 21 are invited to join in for the Tippler’s Tour with Ben Franklin. This is a pub crawl with stops for drinks and snacks at four Old City establishments. Ben Franklin will even join the tour at some point and will stay for a chat at the final stop, City Tavern.
This weekend, it will be free admission to the Benjamin Franklin Museum thanks to Visitphilly.com. This will be happening from Friday January 17th to Sunday January 19th between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Throughout the weekend, the museum will be hosting multiple birthday-themed celebrations including a parade, special presentations and a birthday party complete with free cake.
