Futures and Sutures

“I just wish that you had called, because I would have said it all,” is a key hook in “Long Lost Friends,” the opening track on Transit’s new album, Futures and Sutures. Transit does sound like long lost friends, if your friends were or are currently in emotional rock bands.
Sutures is defined as, “a stitch or row of stitches holding together the edges of a wound or surgical incision.” Therefore, Futures and Sutures, is a very fitting title for Transit’s new album. The running theme consists of moving forwards and emotional wounds. With tracks, “So Long, So Long” and “Listen and Forgive”, and lyrics like, “Find me again, like a rusted bike in your backyard, pull me up from the debris,” and “We’re lighting fires in July,” the band emanates high school summers and healing hearts. They have a nostalgic sound that is catchy and endearing.
Fans of Taking Back Sunday or Brand New will likely appreciate Transit’s collection of songs featuring love, loss, and looking towards brighter futures.
