“All my fans definitely inspire me to make music,” Jake Miller says. The 20-year-old rapper, singer, songwriter who started off making YouTube videos with his sister is now inspiring people around the world. Miller goes on to say, “The more I can affect people’s lives the more I want to make music.”
Miller always knew he wanted to do something with his music. He plays several instruments and is a natural performer. Although he never thought he could make a career out of it, he worked very hard to build a fan base and get his name out there. Miller, who was raised in Florida, used to go to Miami Heat and Dolphin games just to pass his mix tapes out, with the hopes of a celebrity listening to it. All of his work paid off when he was offered a chance to perform at a Miami Heat championship basketball game.
Miller says he’s pretty much always on the road, but on a chill day for him he’ll take advantage of going to the beach or mall. “I really like it when I’m home and I can just kick back and relax,” Miller says.
His debut album, Up Against Them, is eleven tracks filled with fun and uplifting songs. It’s now available and features hit singles “Collide” and “A Million Lives”. Fans can here the songs and many others during his tour, already in progress.
“This will be the best two months of my life!” Miller states as he talks about his new tour. When asked what the fans can expect from a performance with Jake Miller, he says “it’s more of a party, than a show! It’s like entire crowd jumping, getting wet with water bottles, confetti, or jumping off stuff and me just going crazy on stage. So, it’s really like a party more than a show.”
Miller will be performing a SOLD OUT show at the Theatre of Living Arts this Thursday, November 14th. For those without tickets, Miller will be doing a meet and greet at FYE (100 S. Broad Street) at 4pm. Get there early!
