If you haven’t heard of the absolutely brilliant Mallory Merk yet, I suggest you read the rest of this article, and then go look up, and take a listen to her. She’s that talented.
She’s fresh off the release of her Strangers EP and her alt/R&B vibe shines on her new track, “North American Ride,” via Warner Records.
Mallory explains, “‘North American Ride’ is for dreamers and wanderers. I wrote this song to remind myself that even though I’m in control of my happiness and life, I’m still just a passenger on the train. Destinations aren’t everything to me, it’s about the journey to get there and the stops along the way. ‘North American Ride’ is to remind you that roaming the world with keen eyes is only human, and not all who do so are lost.”
Over the past few years, the Louisiana-born, NYC-raised 20 year old has been making a name for herself in the industry, and doing some modeling for the likes of Yeezy, Gucci, and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty. In 2019, she linked up with Zack Bia and James Canton’s Field Trip Records in 2019.
Although, these songs feel like her debut, her actual debut started last year with the track, “Ghosts.” The track attracted attention of cultural influencers, like Kendall Jenner and Taco.
